Abstract

Recent observations based on cosmic microwave background radia- tion suggests that our universe is flat with Euclidean geometry, which is presently expanding with an acceleration. About 70% of the energy density in the universe is believed to be consists of dark energy which is responsible for the current accelerated expansion of the Universe. We propose a mathematical model describing the evolution of the universe after the formation of the first generation of stars to the time when the size of the universe would be infinite and demonstrates successfully the shift of the universe from the phase of deceleration to acceleration using a simple equation of state parameter consistent with the cosmic scenario.
