Abstract

This study explored the role of technology adoption in enhancing the efficiency of construction project planning in Zambia. Using Timco Construction Zambia Limited as a case study, this study examined the impact of general-purpose and construction-specific software tools on time optimisation, cost management, and quality enhancement. The findings indicate significant improvements, including a 20-30% reduction in planning time and a 15% increase in cost estimation accuracy. However, gaps in the adoption of specialised technologies, such as Building Information Modelling (BIM), have been identified. This study underscores the need for strategic investments in advanced tools to achieve competitive advantages in the Zambian construction industry.
