Abstract

With the recent progress made in the research on the treatment of COVID-19, the mortality of the disease has been largely decreased. However, the elderly still comprise the majority of the total deaths of patients with COVID-19. Due to the complexity of health status, including the rates of preexisting medical conditions that increase with age, the treatment and prevention of COVID-19 in elderly people is challenging. In this review, controversial issues on the treatment and prevention of COVID-19 in the elderly are discussed.
