A Review for the Role of Green Juice in Enhancing Body Activity Based on Scientific Constants

Abstract
Eating plant extracts and natural juices is no less important than eating fruits and vegetables directly in terms of preventive and health properties. It has been scientifically proven in this reference article that consuming green juice, which consists of a mixture of leafy vegetables such as watercress, celery, cucumber, and mint, with some fruits such as green apples, lemons, or Kiwifruit, on a regular basis, has effective medical properties in treating many diseases: such as diseases that affect the digestive system such as stomach and colon bacteria, high blood pressure, regulating blood sugar and cholesterol levels, renewing skin cells, improving mood, treating most common diseases, and enhancing the body's activity in general, if consumed regularly.

Green juice is known as a mixture of leafy vegetables such as watercress, celery, cucumber, and mint, with some fruits such as green apple, lemon, or kiwi; to add a distinctive flavour. This juice is characterized by being very rich in vitamins, minerals, and active compounds that contribute to improving the general health of the body. The popularity of this natural juice has increased in recent years as part of the daily diet, due to its effective role in protecting the body from diseases and enhancing general health and body energy [1]. This green juice contains a high concentration of nutrients compared to eating fresh vegetables in the same amount, making it an excellent nutritional supplement, as it helps meet the body's needs for vitamins such as vitamin C, vitamin K, vitamin A and minerals such as potassium and magnesium. It also contains antioxidants such as flavonoids and carotenoids, which play an important role in reducing inflammation and combating damage caused by free radicals, especially in cases of malnutrition or when wanting to boost the immune system and improve energy levels [2-4]; Therefore, many studies have indicated the need to use it in the diet on a regular basis; Due to its high effectiveness in treating many diseases such as high blood pressure, lowering harmful cholesterol levels, regulating sugar levels, enhancing digestive health, inhibiting the effectiveness of stomach bacteria, preventing cancer, renewing skin cells, and improving individuals' mood and health in general [5-8]. In light of the increasing interest in natural treatments and preventive health, this study aimed to provide an in-depth scientific understanding of the health benefits of green juice and scientific constants, after conducting a comprehensive survey of studies that dealt with studying the effect of green juice on human health in general, and spreading the culture of consuming it as part of integrated health strategies.
Health Benefits of Green Juice
Green juice is simply made up of a group of natural leafy vegetables such as watercress, celery, cucumber, and mint, with some fruits such as green apple, lemon, or Kiwifruit, as in Figure 1, which shows some of the components of green juice.

This juice has a variety of health benefits, including treating many common diseases that affect humans; due to the antioxidants it contains, such as chlorophyll and flavonoids, which fight free radicals and reduce inflammation [9], and the dietary fibers it contains, which help improve digestive health and regulate blood sugar levels [10], and active plant compounds such as carotenoids and flavonoids, which help protect the body from diseases by improving nutritional balance and reducing oxidative stress [11]. According to what many scientific studies have indicated, which we will discuss in detail in this article; To prove the facts scientifically and come up with conclusions that confirm the health benefits of green juice, as follows:
The Role of Green Juice in Enhancing the Activity of the Digestive System
Regular consumption of green juice can enhance bowel movement and contribute to reducing digestive problems such as constipation for adults [12]. Another study indicated that green juice improves the balance of the microbiome in the intestines, which enhances the body's ability to absorb essential nutrients, and contributes to enhancing the growth of beneficial bacteria in the colon, which plays an important role in improving the digestion process and reducing inflammation in the intestines [13]. Another study concluded that the dietary fiber in green juice can help improve colon health and reduce inflammation, as well as reduce the chance of forming hard stools, thus reducing the risk of constipation [14]. A study showed that the effect of green juice in treating ulcers caused by H. Pylori, thanks to its antioxidant content, may help accelerate the healing of ulcers and reduce the symptoms associated with them [15]. Another study showed that the components of green juice may help soothe symptoms Irritable bowel syndrome such as bloating and gas [16], and researchers found that natural substances such as chlorophyll and flavonoids found in green juice work to reduce stomach inflammation and significantly inhibit the growth of H. pylori [17], while a review study indicated that consuming green juice can enhance digestive system functions by improving bowel movement and regulating acidity levels, which improves the intestinal environment and enhances colon functions [18], and a study found that antioxidants, natural acids, and phenolic compounds found in green juice in general may be effective in inhibiting the growth of H. Pylori [19], and in a practical research, an analysis was presented on the effect of green juice on resistance to H. Pylori, which showed that consuming green juice can have a protective effect against infection and reduce symptoms associated with this bacteria, as a result of the juice’s effective compounds that contribute to inhibiting this bacteria [20], and finally, a scientific study published on the role of green juice in improving the health of the digestive system in general and its effect on H. pylori confirmed that green juice contributes to enhancing gut health and improving bacterial balance, and thus will have a positive effect on stabilizing the stomach bacteria [21].
The Role of Green Juice in Regulating Blood Cholesterol Levels
Recent scientific research has indicated that green juice can play an effective role in regulating blood cholesterol levels, as a study found that consuming green juice helps improve blood lipid levels; Due to its antioxidant effects that prevent the oxidation of harmful cholesterol, which is a major factor in the development of heart disease. [22], while another study by [23], found that consuming green juice regularly can help reduce total cholesterol and harmful cholesterol (LDL) levels, which contributes to reducing the risk of cardiovascular diseases. A study showed that consuming green juice may contribute to lowering cholesterol levels by improving liver function, which plays an important role in regulating blood lipid levels [24]. While the results of another study showed that plant compounds such as flavonoids and chlorophyll found in green juice improve the properties of blood lipids, leading to a decrease in bad cholesterol levels and an increase in good cholesterol levels [25]. Another study confirmed the effect of green juice on cholesterol levels, indicating that consuming the juice can help reduce total cholesterol levels thanks to its fiber and phenolic compounds content [26]. Finally, the results of a recently published study showed that regularly consuming juice containing celery leads to improved blood lipid levels, including a decrease in total and bad cholesterol levels (LDL), due to the flavonoids and polyphenols found in celery [27].
The Role of Green Juice in Regulating Blood Pressure
Scientific studies have confirmed that drinking green juice at regular intervals can play an important role in regulating blood pressure, as a study reported that drinking green juice can lead to a decrease in blood pressure thanks to its nitrate content, which helps in dilating blood vessels [28]. Another study showed that green juice contains a large amount of vitamins and minerals such as potassium, which plays a vital role in regulating blood pressure levels [29]. Another scientific study indicated that drinking green juice regularly helps in reducing systolic and diastolic blood pressure; this is thanks to its abundance of nitrates, which work to dilate blood vessels [30]. While another study conducted in the same year showed that drinking green juice can improve the elasticity of blood vessels and reduce blood pressure thanks to antioxidants [31]. A scientific study found that green juice contributes to improving blood pressure levels through its antioxidant effects and active compounds that help reduce inflammation and promote blood vessel health [32]. Finally, a recent study showed that consuming green juice can help reduce blood pressure due to its positive effect on fluid balance in the body, which contributes to reducing high blood pressure [33].
The Role of Green Juice in Regulating Blood Sugar Levels
Green juice has regulatory properties for blood sugar levels thanks to its content of vitamins and minerals that support insulin function and reduce insulin resistance [34]. It was shown that consuming green juice regularly can help improve blood sugar levels and manage type two diabetes; thanks to its positive effects on blood sugar metabolism [35]. Another study indicated that green juice can have a positive effect in reducing and regulating blood sugar levels, and that consuming green juice regularly can improve insulin sensitivity, which helps control blood sugar levels more effectively [36]. Researchers found in a scientific study that showed that antioxidant compounds and fibers found in green juice contribute to improving the body's response to insulin, which contributes to reducing blood sugar levels [37]. Finally, a scientific article showed that consuming green juice can reduce fluctuations in blood sugar levels after meals, thanks to the fiber that slows down the absorption of sugar [38].
The Role of Green Juice in Improving and Renewing Skin Cells
Recent scientific studies indicate that drinking green juice can have significant beneficial effects on skin health, as a scientific study showed that consuming green juice can improve skin tone and reduce dark spots thanks to its anti-inflammatory effect and its ability to support skin cell renewal [39]. A study showed that green juice contributes to improving skin elasticity and reducing wrinkles; thanks to its content of vitamins such as vitamins C and E [40]. A study conducted in the same year confirmed that drinking green juice can have a positive effect on skin hydration and general health thanks to its high content of water and important nutrients [41]. Another study showed that antioxidant compounds in green juice, such as chlorophyll and flavonoids, play a role in protecting the skin from damage caused by free radicals and work to enhance its radiance [42]. Finally, a study found that green juice can help reduce the appearance of acne and pimples thanks to its antibacterial effects and reduced inflammation of skin cells [43].
The Role of Green Juice in Improving Mood
Recent research indicates that green juice may play an important role in improving mood and promoting mental health. A scientific study has shown that consuming green juice can have a positive effect on mood by improving energy levels and concentration, which enhances overall mental health [44]. Another study has shown that regularly consuming green juice can improve mood thanks to its content of vitamins and minerals that support chemical balance in the brain [45]. A scientific study showed that green juice can help boost mood thanks to its positive effect on serotonin levels, a neurotransmitter associated with happiness and well-being [46]. Meanwhile, a study showed that green juice, thanks to its antioxidant compounds such as flavonoids and carotenoids, can help reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression by improving brain health and reducing inflammation [47]. Finally, a scientific study was published showing that consuming green juice may contribute to improving mood thanks to its calming effects and support for the central nervous system [48].
The Role of Green Juice in Treating Common Diseases
Green juice may have beneficial effects in treating a variety of common diseases, as a study showed that green juice can help reduce symptoms associated with digestive disorders such as colitis thanks to its anti-inflammatory effects and help improve gut health [44]. Green juice can play a role in preventing heart disease by reducing harmful cholesterol levels and improving blood vessel health thanks to antioxidants such as flavonoids [5]. Moreover, it may have protective effects against some types of cancer thanks to its antioxidant content that helps fight free radicals and reduce cellular damage. [49], it can help manage diabetes by improving blood sugar levels and increasing insulin sensitivity thanks to its fiber and plant compounds content [6]. Finally, a study examined the effect of green juice on general health, indicating that its regular consumption can boost immunity and reduce the chances of contracting common diseases thanks to its content of essential vitamins and minerals [48].
The Role of Green Juice in Enhancing the Body's Activity in General
Most recent studies have indicated that green juice has a significant positive effect on enhancing the body's activity in general. This has become clear through reviewing previous studies on its role in treating common diseases that affect humans. A study confirmed that consuming green juice can help increase energy levels and improve the body's daily performance by supporting nutritional balance and improving metabolic functions [44]. It improves the body's latent energy levels and physical performance thanks to its content of vitamins and minerals that support vital functions [50]. It contributes to enhancing the body's physical activity thanks to its positive effects on cardiovascular health and increased blood flow [51]. A recently published scientific study confirmed that green juice, thanks to antioxidants and fiber, can enhance the body's ability to recover after exercise and reduce muscle fatigue [52]. Finally, a study showed that drinking green juice regularly can help improve physical activity and overall energy levels thanks to its content of essential nutrients such as potassium and magnesium [48].
Conclusions
We conclude from this comprehensive reference study, through which we reviewed the most prominent scientific studies that addressed the topic of green juice and its effect on enhancing the general health of the body. Therefore, it can be scientifically proven, according to what all previous studies have indicated, that green juice is considered an integrated pharmacy; As a result of its effective role in treating many diseases: such as diseases of the digestive system, high blood pressure, regulating blood sugar and cholesterol levels, renewing skin cells, improving mood, treating most common diseases, and enhancing the body's activity in general, if consumed regularly.
