Abstract

β-1 adrenergic receptor (ADRB1) and β-2 adrenergic receptor (ADRB2) polymorphisms have been shown to play functional role in risk, progression in cardiovascular disease. To date, some studies investigated the influence of ADRB1, ADRB2 polymorphisms on cardiovascular outcomes in patients with cardiovascular disease. However, the results have been inconsistent. Then we carried this review to provide a comprehensive overview of ADRB1 and ADRB2 genetic polymorphisms that have associated with cardiovascular outcomes in patients with heart failure or coronary artery disease. And our review could contribute to development of improved risk stratification of patients with CVD, creating the opportunity to individualize treatment in future.
