Abstract
The patient is a 71-year-old male with type 2 diabetes (T2D). He developed strong back pain in 2021 and was hospitalized for emergency. He was diagnosed with urolithiasis and T2D with HbA1c 9.3%. For pulse wave velocity (PWV) test, Cardio-Ankle Vascular Index (CAVI) showed 9.8/9.6 (right/left) with arteriosclerosis. He was treated by super-low carbohydrate diet (LCD), linagliptin and metformin, and HbA1c decreased to 5.6% for 6 months. After carbohydrate restriction became weakened to standard- and petite-LCD, voglibose and imeglimin (Twymeeg) were added. Diabetes has comorbidity for urolithiasis more than non-diabetes. Related perspectives for diabetes and urolithiasis are discussed here.
