Abstract
The patient is 78-year-old female with type 2 diabetes (T2D), treated by imeglimin (Twymeeg) from October 2022. Her BMI was 24.7kg/m2 and HbA1c was stable for years. She has continued petite-low carbohydrate diet (LCD) for years. Pulse wave velocity (PWV) showed Cardio-Ankle Vascular Index (CAVI) 9.4/9.4 (right/left) and ankle-brachial index (ABI) 0.96/0.96, which seems to be rather atherosclerotic. Head MRI/MRA showed cerebral atrophy and age-related changes of brain blood vessels. By Lipid-Lowering Drug (LLD) from October 2024, LDL-cholesterol decreased from 138 to 68mg/dL for 6 months. Thus, she keeps stable condition, probably from LCD and regular oral hypoglycemic agents (OHAs).
