Abstract
Understanding how to assess, diagnosis and treat soft tissue abnormalities at birth is critical for the proper growth and development of a child. He will also address the need for early intervention of restricted tethered oral tissues in infants to prevent comorbidities such as infant air induced reflux, sleep disordered breathing, and how this can lead to the misdiagnosis of ADD or ADHD.
Three objectives:
- How to properly examine a child for oral soft tissue lesion
- Why the tongue is more than just a muscle, but an organ, just like the heart
3. It’s time for the medical community to understand medicine and dentistry need to work together to improve infant health and development.
