Abstract
Vocational education plays a significant role in providing trained and skilled labor to the market and various sectors. It also gives equal opportunity to students who cannot cope with the mainstream or conventional education system. The vocational courses are designed in such a way that they are meant to impart skills that make a candidate ready for employment or entrepreneurship. It contributes to the economy of the country by creating many opportunities for graduates in different sectors and at all levels of employment. This study explores the potential of vocational education, particularly in the tourism and hospitality trade, to empower you thin Jammu and Kashmir by creating employment opportunities. By examining the current landscape and challenges faced by youth in the region, along with the demand for skilled workers in the tourism and hospitality sectors, this paper assesses the effectiveness of vocational education programmers in addressing unemployment and promoting sustainable livelihoods. Through quantitative analysis, the study aims to provide insights into the role of vocationaleducationinfosteringeconomicgrowthandsocialdevelopmentinJammu and Kashmir. Recommendations for policymakers, educators, and industry stakeholders are proposed to enhance the impact of vocational education initiatives and maximize their contribution to youth empowerment and regional prosperity.
