Abstract

The location pattern of hotels in Zacatecas City, Mexico, is analyzed for 1988, 2003 and 2023, using the concentration-dispersion approach. Using data from hotels, motels and hostels from economic censuses, first, their location was geolocated and georeferenced to identify location patterns. The results indicated that, initially, hotels were concentrated in the center of Zacatecas. At the end of the period, most of them were dispersed along main avenues. The location of hotels has evolved from agglomeration to dispersion. This dispersion was not homogeneous, since small clusters were formed. And this pattern was differentiated depending on the size of the hotel.
